Collision in South Bayview
Luckily, no injuries
Walking north on Bayview Avenue approaching Hillsdale this afternoon I hear a loud BANG! BANG!
My first reaction was Sally Kellerman's "Oh my God, they shot him!"
But it was a serious collision. People immediately gravitate to the scene to make sure everyone's okay.
By the time I get there, about 30 seconds after it happened, the driver of the small car, the woman in the white coat, is being asked to sit down on the curb in case of shock. She's okay, just shaken.
Her car is totalled.
These two cars are jammed together on Bayview and the brown one has front wheel damage.
But that's not the end of it. The woman's car appears to have bounced off the large black SUV, below, left, hard enough to push it forward and accordion the cute little sportster into the Volvo in front.
An ambulance arrives but is waved through. Now it is a matter of waiting for the police.
The Fire department arrives to secure the intersection. There was minor fluid leakage on the street, but it could have been a lot worse.
The owner of the little sportster shares a lighter moment with a firefighter.
The debriefing begins. The woman on the right in the gray coat was one of the other drivers.
