Rolph Road Public School choir

At the Blue Jays game

Added 2012-04-17

Fortune smiled upon me again this week, with another ticket to a Blue Jays game.

On the way to Skydome (I refuse to call it the Rogers Centre) I noticed this very large sculpture of a woodpecker on a steel pole. I guess that would make it a steelpecker.

Today the anthems were sung by Leaside's Rolph Road Public School choir. Why they were stuck way out in centre field is anybody's guess.

The game itself was very satisfying. Adam Lind had a walk and three hits, including a two-run homer to pad the lead to 4-0, as well as making an unassisted double play. Tampa's Evan Longoria helped our cause by making three errors.

Here's reliever Francisco Cordero with his unorthodox pitching stance. It looks like he's just hanging his arm out there until it fills up a bit with blood.

Final score was 7-3 Jays.
