The rose bush at Bayview and McRae
Early last winter this magnificent rose bush on the southeast corner of Bayview and McRae was pruned back so ruthlessly that I wondered if it would survive. Result! It's only early April but the rosebuds are popping out all over.
This photo did not turn out quite as well as I hoped. I was trying to focus on the rosebud.
The bush used to be over six feet high, but was cut back to about two feet at the sidewalk. These roses have an intoxicating aroma and bloom for the longest time, right into November (see The last rose).
